ASRock shows B450 motherboards

Five models

Right after ASUS and Gigabyte, also ASRock has unveiled five motherboards based on AMD B450 chipset. The company adds to the market two Fatal1ty B450 motherboards and three Pro series models. ASRock with the B450 series offers ATX, micro-ATX and mini-ITX motherboards.

Like we said in the introduction, ASRock has added five B450 models: the Fatal1ty B450 Gaming K4, Fatal1ty B450 Gaming-ITX/AC, B450 Pro4, B450M-HDV and B450M Pro4. The Fatal1ty B450 Gaming K4 and B450 Pro4 are rather similar to each other since we find the same amount of PCIe slots and design. The B450M Pro4 is the high-end model for the micro-ATX form factor, since compared to the B450M-HDV we see more features and a better VRM design. Last but not least we have the Fatal1ty B450 Gaming-ITX/AC which should be very interesting for gaming SFF PCs.

In our opinion the two more interesting motherboards are the Fatal1ty B450 Gaming K4 and Fatal1ty B450 Gaming-ITX/AC. The Fatal1ty B450 Gaming K4 features a black PCB with black metal covers. Since the Fatal1ty motherboards usually are the flagship models within ASRock's lineup we don't believe ASRock will make an exception regarding AMD Ryzen. Having a more detailed look at the board we see two PCIe Gen 3.0 slots with steel reinforcements and four PCIe slots. On the storage side we see two M.2 slots and additionally there are eight SATA ports. Apart from that, ASRock offers the same features which you can find on X470 models. For example we find the Creative Sound Blaster Cinema 5 audio codec, several USB ports and RGB headers.

With the Fatal1ty B450 Gaming-ITX/AC we find two DDR4 slots compatible with up to DDR4-3466 memory. Due to the size of the motherboard, there is only one PCIe 3.0 x16 slot. Moreover, there are four SATA ports and a M.2 PCIe Gen3 x4 for storage. ASRock opts for the Realtek ALC1220 audio codec and a built-in 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2 module.

All models are available on Geizhals, the Fatal1ty B450 Gaming K4 and Fatal1ty B450 Gaming-ITX/AC cost 97 Euro and 120 Euro respectively.
