Intel Core i9-9900K, i7-9700K and i5-9600K specs leaked

As always before a launch it’s simply a matter of time until some website leaks detailed information on what’s to be released. This time it’s the Coolaler website again, where updates on the specs of Intel’s upcoming Core i9-9900K, Core i7-9700K and Core i5-9600K can be found.

Intel Core i9-9900K


In the case of the Core i9-9900K earlier rumours were already suggesting that this particular part is supposed to feature eight cores and 16 threads. The L3 cache should be capable of storing up to 16MB and the TDP rating is 95 Watt. The base clock is at 3.6 GHz while single core boost clocks can reach up to 5.0 GHz.

Intel Core i7-9700K


Like the upcoming mainstream Core i9 processor the Core i7-9700K features eight cores, yet Hyper Threading has not been enabled on this chip. Apart from that there is 12MB L3 cache and single core clock speeds can reach up to 4.9 GHz. As with the bigger brother the TDP rating has been set to 95 Watt.

Intel Core i5-9600K


The third upcoming chip comes with a total of six cores, 9MB L3 cache and Intel again decided to not enable Hyper Threading. According to the Coolaler forums base clock is set to 3.7 GHz, thus 100 MHz higher than what Intel chose for the upcoming Core i7 and Core i9 and the single core Turbo clock speeds are supposed to reach up to 4.6 GHz. Surprisingly this chip also features 95 Watt TDP.

The fact that all three chips, even the non-HT-six-core-parts have a 95 Watt TDP rating bears the quite intriguing question whether the Core i9-9900K is going to run very hot or not. The logic behind this question being: if already the Core i5-9600K has a TDP rating of 95 Watt, yet there are two cores less, less L3 Cache and lower clock speeds, how can it be that a chip with two more cores as well as more L3 cache and higher clocks has the same TDP rating. In the end there is only one variable left to be changed, between the different models, which is the voltage. Therefore, Intel would have to select the lowest voltage models and turn them into high-end chips.
