Intel has published a Z390 chipset product brief on its website. The document unveils the features of the new chipset, which are very close to current Z370 series. Aside from the details that we have already posted during the last weeks, Intel includes more information about the High-Speed I/O lanes (HSIO).

One of the most important features of the upcoming Intel Z390 chipset regards the native support for USB 3.1 Gen2. While the current Intel Z370 chipset doesn't come with any support, the new flagship chipset will offer up to six ports. Furthermore Intel also added support for Wireless-AC 2x2 160MHz and Bluetooth 5. Intel integrated the MAC address into the chipset and it still requires a PHY for operation.

According to the document, Intel should pack 30 High-Speed I/O lanes (HSIO) like current Intel Z370. Intel will provide more details about the Z390 chipset during Computex 2018. It's not the first time that Intel unveils a chipset along with new processors. We expect to learn about new additions to the eight-generation family.
