NVIDIA GTX 1180 expected in July

What we could expect from it?

Our friends over Tomshardware, have written a rather long and interesting article about the upcoming NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1180 graphics card. This model is expect for next July and they have done a recap about what we could expect to see in this new flagship GPU.

The first question that comes up with this graphics card regards the name. At the moment it isn't completely clear what the real name of this model will be. According to some rumors, this card might be the first one of the GTX 20-series, however it might be called GTX 1180 since NVIDIA hasn't announced a new brand name. The alleged GeForce GTX 1180 Founder's Edition will be available in July, while we can expect custom versions around September.

Specification wise there isn't any big information. According to Wccftech, the GeForce GTX 1180 could sport 3'584 CUDA cores, a clock speed of 1.6 or 1.8GHz and up to 8/16GB of GDDR6 memory. Furthermore, the site claimed that the card might come with a TDP of 200 watts. Last but not least this card might have a little brother that should be the updated version of the current GTX 1070.

With the GeForce GTX 1170, NVIDIA might offer a graphics card with 2'688 CUDA cores and 8/16GB of GDDR6 memory. The clock speed should be a little lower compared the GTX 1180 and the TDP might be limited to 160W. Since there isn't any official information from NVIDIA, all these specifications have to be taken with a grain of salt.
