Gelid unveils Tornado CPU cooler

Single tower cooler with high DIMM clearance

Today Gelid introduces the Tornado CPU cooler that features single fin-stack tower design. According to Gelid, the Tornado cooler can deliver good performance supporting CPU up to 160W TDP. The cooler comes with one 120mm PWM fan but it can accomodate a second fan.

With the Tornado, Gelid offers a heavy single tower CPU cooler with four copper heatpipes and several aluminum fins. The cooler measures 45 x 153 x 125mm (WxHxD) and weight 490 grams with one fan attached. The fan spin from 750 RPM up to 1600 RPM and it can produce up to 26 dBA. If you have enough space in your case, you can add a second fan for a "push-pull" configuration.

Furthermore the cooler sports a high DIMM clearance, in other words you can install high-end DIMM modules on your motherboard without any issue. The Tornado is compatible with both Intel or AMD worlds, and at the moment there isn't any information about the price.
