MSI Z390 motherboard listed in AIDA64

We all know that B360, H310 and H370 chipset based motherboards for Coffee Lake processors will be available in April. However, regarding Intel Z390 chipset there isn't any additional information. According to a rumor, Intel was supposed to release this chip in Q4 2017. Thanks to a changelog of AIDA64, we know that the chipset is still part of Intel's plan.


The upcoming Intel 300 series chipset will still use the current socket LGA 1151. Compared to the previous Intel Z270 chipset, the Intel's Z370 platform has received a significant upgrade on the network side such as an integrated WiFi module and support for a faster Ethernet standard. Furthermore there are more I/O ports, such as more USB 3.0 as well as USB 3.1 ports.

While the Z370 is designed for enthusiast motherboards, the H370 is going to replace the current H270 chipset which is Intel's current mainstream offering. Last but not least, Intel will add an entry-level chipset which is going to be called H310. According to the roadmap, Intel is going to release Z390 during the second half of 2018. According to a post of Eurocom, Intel Z390 chipset is designed to support CPUs with up to 8-cores. In order words, Intel might release a mainstream 8-cores processors based on Coffee Lake or Ice Lake somewhen in the second half of 2018.
