During the pre-CES press day, AMD has unveiled its CPU roadmap for the year. According to the roadmap, AMD has confirmed that we would be getting the first Ryzen "Zen+" CPUs quite soon. Due to a leak on Reddit, there are finally more information on this upcoming chips.



At the moment two processors have been spotted on 3DMark database but we haven't any score so far. According to the leak, the Ryzen 2 processors will sport just a tiny improvement on the base and boost clocks. For example, the AMD Ryzen 5 2600 will come with 3.40GHz on the base clock and 3.80GHz for the boost clock. The current model features a base clock of 3.20GHz and a boost clock of 3.60GHz.

We have a similar situation for the flagship Ryzen 7 2700X. This upcoming chip will pack 200MHz more on the base clock and 300MHz more for the boost clock compared the current Ryzen 7 1700X. In addition, Pinnacle Ridge (the second generation of Ryzen based processors) will come with a slightly enhanced Zen+ architecture which will feature the new 12nm+ process node. Furthermore we should see Precision Boost 2.0, XFR 2.0 and higher memory speeds.
