The OPTIX MPG27CQ monitor has been equipped with a 27-inch panel with 1800R curvature and 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution. According to MSI, the 1800R curvature "is the most comfortable for your eyes and suitable for any kind of application, including gaming, office, or multimedia entertainment." The TN panel offers 3000:1 contrast ratio and 400 cd/m2 brightness. MSI is marketing this display as a gaming monitor and optimized for usage in combination with MSI Gaming graphics card.

Thanks to the partership with Steelseries, MSI Optix MPG27C offers PrismSync Illumination which includes several RGB zones that can be easily programmed. Each zone can be used for notify gamers about alerts, messages and much more. Like the older 27-inch model both screens can handle 144 Hz on its TN based panel.

There are two HDMI 2.0 connectors and one DisplayPort 1.2a port. Furthermore there are two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports on the left side and one USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-B port on the read side. The panel is being kept in position by a solid stand, which allows for pan, tilt, swivel and height adjustment. At the moment there are no additional details about the global launch.
