Windows 10 Pro receives Ultimate Performance power mode

New feature for insiders

Microsoft has released a new set of features for Windows Insiders. The most interesting changes are for Windows 10 Pro for Workstations users, but we hope to see good features even for gamers during next updates. With this update there will be two key features: ultimate performance profile and productivity applications ready in the Start menu.

With the "Ultimate Performance" power plan, Windows add a new profile for all that users that need "the absolute maximum performance" for their workloads. At the moment, if you want push your system to the limit you have to enable the "High Performance" preset and change some additional settings in the sub-menu. This is required since the High Performance profile comes with some performance and efficiency tradeoffs.

At this time is still unclear what kind of settings we will find with the Ultimate Performance profile, however we already know that this preset will not work on battery powered systems. Microsoft has received a lot of feedback from partners regarding the out of box experience for Windows 10 Pro, and in the next update Workstation users might see productivity and enterprise focused applications.
