Gigabyte B250 Mining with 12 PCI-Express slots

Cryptocurrency mining is having a weird effect

Gigabyte dropped its hat into the DIY crypto-currency mining hardware craze introduction the GA-B250-FinTech motherboard. This ATX form-factor motherboard comes with a eleven PCI-Express 3.0 x1 slots and one PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot.

The Gigabyte B250 Fin Tech comes with no less than 11 PCI-Express x1 slots and one single PCI-Express x16 slot, which makes for a total of 12 expansions slot sitting between the bottom edge and the CPU socket. Apart from that, this board is based on Intel's B250 chipset, which basically marks the entry level when it comes chipzilla's 200 series offerings.

The rather odd feature list doesn't just stop with the number PCI-Express slots. Unlike the ASUS motherboard unveiled a few months ago, the GA-B250-FinTech is equipped with one 24-pin, one 8-pin EPS and one molex connectors.

Alongside the latest cryptocurrency hype more and more awkward things appear to be happening. Apart from the obvious things like prices going through the roof most of the major motherboard vendors now have boards with an insane number of PCI-Express slots. For now we can definitely be curious when the next odd product for cryptocurrency mining is going to make it to the market.
