Plextor has shown their M8V SSDs series, which are based on 3D-NAND Flash memory. The M8V drives are available with 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacity. The drive will be available in two form factors: 7 mm-thick 2.5-inch and M.2-2280.
As mentioned above, the upcoming Plextor M8V will be available in several form factors. Read and write speeds of the Plextor M8V 256GB and 512GB are mentioned to top out at 560MB/s, while the manufacturer is saying that this performance can be achieved with all different file types. The 128GB model is slightly slower and it can achieve up to 400MB/s in both read and write.
In terms of endurance the MTBF is set to 70 TBW on the 128GB, 140 TBW on the 256GB and, 280 TBW on the 512GB. Regarding random read/write performance these drives can hit up to 81k/82k IOPS in random read and writes respectively.
So far Plextor has not revealed details on pricing and availability on their M8V series but we are sure we will know more during next weeks.
