MSI unveils Radeon RX Vega cards

With Air Boost cooler

AMD's Radeon RX Vega cards are still hard to find on retail shelves, but the situation could be improve soon due to the announcement of third-party designs. MSI has announced two Vega cards, the Radeon RX Vega 56 Air Boost 8G OC and the Radeon RX Vega 64 Air Boost 8G OC. Both cards sport a reference PCB with a blower-style cooler.

As we've already mentioned the Air Boost series is going to be equipped with a reference PCB as well as a new cooler. Both cards are supposed to deliver good performance due to the tiny factory overclock. While the RX Vega 64 works at 1247MHz/1546MHz Core/Boost frequencies, this factory-overclocked MSI RX Vega 64 Air Boost runs at 1272MHz/1575MHz Core/Boost. The MSI RX Vega 56 Air Boost clocks at 1181MHz/1520MHz Core/Boost, while the reference comes with 1156MHz/1471MHz Core/Boost frenquencies.

The Air Boost cards have the same output ports as the reference models, meaning three DisplayPorts and one HDMI jack. Overall the design is quite similar to the AMD reference model, MSI has slighly changed the shroud and replaced the Radeon 'R' on the blower fan. Both cards come with a pair of eight-pin PCIe power connectors. MSI didn't provide any pricing or availability information.
