The Z370M Mortar from MSI is a mid-range motherboard that comes with a few interesting features. Compared to the previous model, which goes by the name Z270M Mortar, we see a similar color scheme, a reworked layout and a higher grade chipset.
Like the same model from the previous generation the Z370M Mortar is based on an mATX form factor with four DDR4 slots. The old model was quite similar in terms of design but it was based on Intel's Z270 chipset, which meant there were less features such as connectors in general. Since the Z370M Mortar belongs to the new family of products, it also comes with RGB backlight and there are steel reinforcements on PCIe slots.
There are four angled SATA ports and two M.2 slot. Although fancy designs can usually only be found on high-end products this Z370 based motherboard proves different, MSI installed a I/O cover. Price-wise this board could be placed somewhere between the entry-level and the mid-range segment, making this quite an interesting product if you want a board that looks special but doesn't cost too much.
At the moment the Z370M Mortar motherboard is available only in black color scheme, however we expect to see also the white version called "Arctic Edition".
