Futuremark has just updated VRMark with Cyan Room that includes a new test that measures your PC's performance with the more efficient DirectX12 API. According to the company, the test sports a new DirectX 12 engine which allows large and complex environment.
Almost one year ago, Futuremark released the VRMark benchmark which enables you to test your theoretic performance in VR experiences. The original release of VRMark featured two rooms: the Orange Room, which is compatible with Oculus Rift or HTC Vive headsets, and the Blue Room, which renders the scene at 5K resolution to simulate the requirements of next-gen VR headset. The upcoming Cyan Room will provide impressive effects even on entry-level or mid-range gaming PCs.
VRMark is mostly a benchmark for computer hardware, however there is an Experience Mode that allows you to explore the test environment. The original release featured experiences for both the Blue and Orange rooms. With the new update, you will be able to explore the Cyan Room as well. According to Futuremark, Cyan Room update should be available on November 22 as a free update for VRMark Advanced Edition and VRMark Professional Edition. The Basic Edition will not get any update.
