SO-DIMM memory kits are usually inside laptop but lately even high-end gaming PCs are using this small memory kits. For example the upcoming ASRock X299E-ITX/ac will support up to four SO-DIMM memory. G.Skill has once again raised the bar for DDR4 SO-DIMM memory with the launch of three new Ripjaws kits that range from DDR4-3200 to DDR4-3800.
The fastest kits are the DDR4-3800, these fast SO-DIMMs run at CL18-18-18-38 timings and are offered in a quad channel kit with a total capacity of 32GB. G.Skill tested this memory on an Asrock X299E-ITX/ac motherboard and an Intel Core i9-7900X processor. The company is also offering a DDR4-3600 quad channel kit with up 32 GB capacity and tighter CL16-16-16-36 timings. The third kit is set to DDR4-3200 with the same CL16-16-16-36 timings.
So far G.Skill there isn't more information about price or availability. Although the company wasn't ready to talk about prices just yet, we believe that these kits will be pricey. G.Skill backs all of its memory modules with a lifetime warranty.
