ASRock launches X299E-ITX/ac motherboard

First mini-ITX model

ASRock announced a mini-ITX motherboard based on Intel's X299 chipset. This motherboard is the perfect solution if you want build an extreme and powerful PC on a tiny footprint. Like the previous model based, which was based on the Intel X99 chipset, the upcoming X299E-ITX/ac comes with a lot of features.

The ASRock X299E-ITX/ac sports all the features that you’d expect from an Intel X299 motherboard, including support for Intel's latest Core X-Series LGA 2066 processors and quad-channel memory, that can clock with up to 4000 MHz. Due to the size of the motherboard, ASRock is using SODIMM slots instead of standard full-size 288-pin memory modules.

On this tiny motherboard there is one steel-reinforced PCI-E 3.0 x16 slot, three PCIe Gen3 x4 Ultra M.2 slots, two USB 3.1 Gen2 (Type-A + Type-C), 7.1 channel HD audio, dual Intel Ethernet ports and 802.11ac WiFi. In other words you find everything that you need for building a fast and powerful SFF PC.

Furthermore if you like watercooling setups, you will be happy to know that Bitspower has released a full cover water block, which is compatible with this model. According to the company, the upcoming water block is able to dissipate up to 300W of heat. Thanks to our friend Stuart Tonks from GGF Lan Party we have a first picture of this water block.

At the moment ASRock didn't reveal any details on availability but we are sure that it will be pretty expensive.
