MSI teases yet another Intel Z370 motherboard

The Z370 KRAIT Gaming

At the moment there is only one picture showing the layout of the Z370 KRAIT Gaming. Like the previous model the new one features a completely black color scheme with white labels on the PCB. According to the first leaks, Z370 motherboards appear to be very similar to the Z270 models, but besides this Coffee Lake chips won’t work on the 7th generation platform.

According to the image, it looks like this board is based on an ATX form-factor with your standard four DIMM slots. Despite the Krait Series belonging - at least with Z270 chipsets - to the mid-range series, we can already spot a few nice features that can usually be found on higher-end boards. There is for instance an I/O cover as well as a bunch of PCIe 3.0 x16 slots.

The design of the old Z270A Krait Gaming motherboard was already quite decent, however MSI has finally improved the SATA ports design making them all angled. Between each full-sized PCIe slot there is a M.2 slot and the slots can hold a whole variety of M.2 drives and the longest of them can measure 110mm, complying with the 22110 standard.

If you are thinking about buying a new PC, which is based on Intel’s Z-series chipset, we suggest to wait a few weeks since by then Coffee Lake will be out.
