At the lunch, Microsoft announced that it was going to release a twice-per-year update on Windows. The first update has been released during last April with the Creators Update, and six-month later the company is ready to release another update called Fall Creators Update. This update will become available October 17.



Given the name of the update, we believe that Microsoft will not change many aspects. According to some rumors, Microsoft is going to integrate eye-tracking support into Windows, improving the user experience for people with disorders like Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's disease). Microsoft is also improving Windows Inking (apparently renamed from Windows Ink), Defender, Game Mode, OneDrive and Photos app.

The most interesting update that Windows wants include in the Fall Creators Update is the support for Windows Mixed Reality (WMR). Since there aren't many applications for WMR devices, it's still unclear what users can do with this headset. What we know for sure is that users might benefit of Mixed Reality Viewer from Windows.

The Fall Creators Update will be available next October 17. Windows Updates come in broadly staggered rollouts these days, so some PCs may not actually get the new features at launch.
