Gigabyte has announced another graphics card with smaller-than-usual dimensions. The Mini ITX 8G is just 17cm long, features a dual slot design and a single 90mm fan. Although the card comes with a tiny cooler, the Mini ITX 8G can still hit pretty high clock frequencies.
As we already mentioned the GeForce GTX 1080 Mini ITX 8G comes with a compact PCB which measures about 17 centimeters in length. According to Gigabyte, this model is perfect for SFF systems. The cooler is made from aluminum with three thick copper heatpipes. The air is pushed through the cooler using one 90mm fan.
Having a closer look at the specs we see that the GeForce GTX 1080 Mini ITX 8G comes factory-overclocked to 1607MHz/1771MHz Core/Boost clocks, while the GTX 1080 Founders Edition works at 1607MHz/1733MHz Core/Boost frequencies. This is only a tiny factory OC, yet it’s better to get a card with a little overclock than none at all. Apart from that it’s impressive to see Gigabyte overclock a card with such a small cooler.
Like the Founders Edition, this card also comes with three DisplayPort 1.4 connectors, one HDMI 2.0b connector and one dual-link DVI port. The GeForce GTX 1080 Mini ITX 8G should hit the market very soon. So far Gigabyte has not revealed any details on pricing but since this card features a heavily reworked design, we believe it will not be cheap. In addition the company have released the GTX 1070 and GTX 1060 Mini as well.
