Intel Core i3-8350K tested again

As fast as Core i7-6700K

Another set of benchmarks on Intel's Coffee Lake CPUs has surfaced. This time it looks like the quad-core Intel Core i3-8350K has been tested. This model features four cores, four threads and a TDP of 95W. According to the latest rumors, the upcoming CPUs should become available this October.

These new results have been gathered using Aida64 and CPU-Z. At stock clocks the Intel Core i3-8350K is as fast as an Intel’s Core i7-6700K. In other words those new tests confirm previous rumors as well as previous testing, showing that the Intel Core i3-8350K is definitely a very quick chip. A closer look at the results gathered with the multi-thread benchmark routine from CPU-Z shows that the system with Core i3-8350K scores 2'648 points in multi-threaded, while the Intel Core i7-6700K scores 2'377 points. Apart from that running the single-threaded routine the performance is on a similar level.

The upcoming i3-8350K works at a base clock of 4.00GHz and there is no boost clock. Apart from that it might most likely be combined with 8 MB of L3 cache. According to these new results, it appears that this particular Coffee Lake chip is as fast as an Intel Core i7-6700K and performance-wise that puts it between the i7-7700K and the Core i7-6700K. Furthermore this chip is supposed to launch at a very reasonable sub-$200 US price.
