MAINGEAR announces the R2 Razer Edition Gaming PC

30% smaller than the R1

MAINGEAR has announced a new small form factor (SFF) gaming PC that come with Intel Core i9 as well as AMD processors and should be released during the next months. Similar to the Maingear R1 Razer Edition, the Maingear R2 Razer Edition ships with green LEDs and a Razer-themed chassis. The case is 30% smaller than the R1 since there’s a mini-ITX motherboard inside, while the other features an ATX board.

The R2 Razer Edition can be equipped with both AMD Ryzen or Intel X299 processors. For AMD enthusiasts, MAINGEAR offers configurations with Ryzen 7 1800X chips that can be paired with up to 32GB of DDR4-2666 memory and up to a Radeon RX 580 graphics card. The system can be equipped with NVIDIA graphics cards as well. Since at the moment there aren't any mini-ITX X370 motherboards, MAINGEAR uses an Asrock B250 Gaming-ITX/ac motherboard. The Intel versions come with Z270 chipset or with X299 chipsets.

The Z270 series can be equipped with Intel Core i7-7700K processor and MSI Z270I Gaming Pro Carbon or Asus Strix Z270I Gaming motherboards. Like with the AMD version, you can have up to 32GB of DDR4-2666 memory. Regarding the graphics department, you can choose everything up to the AMD RX 580 or you can go all out on the NVIDIA side with the Titan Xp. Furthermore MAINGEAR offer a system based on the Asrock X299E-ITX/ac motherboard in combination with the Intel Core i7-7900X CPU. All systems can be configured M.2 NVMe SSDs with up to 2TB capacity. Apart from that there are two drive bays, which are compatible with 4TB 2.5" SATA SSDs and 10TB HDDs.

The MAINGEAR R2 Razer Edition is available on the official MAINGEAR website and the prices for the AMD rigs start at $1'100 US and Intel systems start at $1'200 US. The Super Stock versions with custom hard pipes start at $4'300 US in the case of the AMD systems and $4'400 US are what you’ll have to pay for an Intel based rig.
