PNY unveils CS1311 series SSDs

An entry-level drive

PNY has shown their CS1311 SSDs series, which are based on TLC-NAND Flash memory. Their CS1311 line offers a units based on Phisons S11 controller, which is an updated version of the Phison S10, whereas the older version could be found in the PNY CS2211 drives. All the CS1311 SSDs come with a 2.5 inch package.

Being in a 2.5 inch package these drives feature a SATA-III interface so the performance is not going to be a surprise. As expected the CS1311 SSDs are able to max out the SATA-III interface, hitting up to 550MB/s sequential read and 520MB/s for sequential writes. In the case of 4K speeds 90'000/90'000 IOPS are achieved regarding random reads/writes. PNY is not mentioning endurance in TBW (Terabytes Write) or the mean time before failure (MTBF). As all modern SSDs the PNY ones support S.M.A.R.T., TRIM and NCQ.

The CS1311 SSDs are available with 120GB, 240GB, 480GB and 960GB of storage capacity and they’re covered by a 3-year warranty plan. So far PNY has not revealed any details on pricing and availability but we are sure it won’t take long until those drives are going to be listed on Geizhals.
