The ROG Crosshair VI Hero from ASUS has received a little upgrade regarding wireless LAN. This new model packs 2×2 dual-band 2.4/5GHz antennas with the latest MU-MIMO (Multi-User, Multi-in, Multi-Out) feature. This little upgrade makes the board much more versatile.
The Crosshair VI Hero is an ATX form-factor motherboard and there are your usual four DIMM slots, which you get in the case of a dual-channel memory interface. Apart from that there is the "Aura" feature, which allows you to change the illumination of the board from within Windows. There are also three full-sized PCIe slots and two of them feature metal-reinforcements. Between the first and the second full-sized PCIe slot there are two slots distance leaving plenty of room for graphics cards to breathe even in multi-GPU configurations.
On the storage side we see one M.2 slot, which is compatible with M.2 SSDs with 22110 form factor meaning that the drives can measure up to 110 millimeters in length. Furthermore there are eight SATA 6Gbps ports and a USB 3.1 front panel connector. Looking for additional features we find onboard buttons and a debug display, support for USB 3.1, a high-quality power design and a good mix of connectors at the I/O panel.
So far ASUS has not revealed details on pricing and availability on their ROG Crosshair VI Hero WiFi AC motherboard.
