On their official Facebook page, MSI have shown a little preview regarding their upcoming Intel X299 motherboard. At the moment there is only a little teaser which shows a few parts of an upcoming high-end model. Like the previous model the new one features a completely black color scheme with several RGB LEDs.
According to the image, it looks like this board is based either on ATX or E-ATX form factor. Checking connectivity there are four PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots and three M.2 slots with M.2 Shield. So far it is unknown how Skylake-X's PCIe lanes will be split, nevertheless it is expected that all of these M.2 slots will run at PCI Express 3.0 x4 bandwidth when used in a supported configuration.
Judging by the pictures it’s not perfectly clear what series this board will belong to. Making an educated guess we’d say it’s going to be a possible, upcoming MSI X299 Godlike Gaming Carbon.
If you are thinking about buying a new PC, which is based on Intel’s X-series chipset, we suggest to wait a few weeks since by then Intel X299 will be out. At the moment there aren't any new details but we are sure that other manufacturers will show little previews as well.
