Biostar launches two mini-ITX AM4 motherboards

X370 and B350 chipset

Biostar has been the first manufacturer to come up with AMD AM4 300-series motherboards. Already a few months ago, during an event they’ve held in Taiwan, Biostar presented details on upcoming mini-ITX models, which are based on AMDs AM4 chipset. Meanwhile, there are finally more details on the Racing X370-GTN and the Racing B350-GTN motherboards.

The Biostar X370-GTN and the B350-GTN offer the same features and connectors, the only difference between these two model is the chipset. Both boards feature a mini-ITX form factor with two DDR4 DIMM slots. On the storage side we find one M.2 slot, four SATA ports, four USB 3.1 ports and two USB 3.1 Gen2 ports. In the case of the CPU power design we find the same implementation as on the X370-GT5 and the X370-GT3. Looking at expansion slots we find one PCIe Gen 3.0 x16 slot without any metal reinforcement. In addition, like all the previous models, we see a Realtek Dragon LAN chip.

These two motherboards will support AMD's entire Ryzen lineup, including the 8-core Ryzen 7 1800X. According to Biostar, both motherboards even support overclocking although at this time it is unknown if this compact boards will limit the overclocking potential of Ryzen 7 CPUs. We are quite curious to see how a Ryzen high-end CPU will perform on this new motherboard since this is the first AMD X370 mini-ITX model.

In terms of pricing the Biostar's Racing X370-GTN will have an MSRP of $129 in the US, while the B350-GTN will be available with an MSRP of $109.
