Eight new custom models
A few weeks ago, MSI was teasing its Gaming X version of AMD’s Radeon RX 500 series graphics cards. Meanwhile MSI launched several different RX 570 and RX 580 cards. Furthermore there are stock and overclocked variants in the portfolio.
Let's start with the high-end cards first. The RX 580 Gaming X+ 8G is the most powerful, new AMD card from MSI and it features a rather large heatsink with a black and red plastic shroud. Since this is the top model we find a big backplate as well as LED RGB lighting. On top of that this particular card is available with stock clocks and overclocked. While the RX 580 Gaming X 8G works at 1393MHz on the Boost, the factory-overclocked RX 580 Gaming X+ 8G clocks with 1441MHz Boost.
Like on their NVIDIA series, MSI is offering two Armor series pixel accelerators in the case of the AMD RX 500 series. It’s interesting to see that MSI equips one Armor series card with 4GB of memory and the other with 8GB. The boost frequency, in the case of these RX 580 card, is 1366MHz on both cards. The cooler is black and white and there are two MSI Torx fans that provide airflow through the rather large heatsink. Apart from that there isn't any backplate or RGB functionality already implying that those cards are more geared the budget-minded customers.
MSI also has several AMD Radeon RX 570 graphics cards in its portfolio and the family is setup in a similar way like their RX 580 lineup. There are the RX 570 Gaming X with 8GB and 4GB of VRAM and two RX 570 Armor OC, also with 8GB and 4GB of VRAM. While the first two come bundled with the well-known Twin Frozr cooler, the other two have been equipped with the Armor cooler. The RX 570 Gaming X 8G and the RX 570 Gaming X 4G feature RG LED lighting but unlike the RX 580 counterpart, they don't offer a solid backplate. As we already mentioned the Armor series is more budget-friendly there is no fancy RGB lighting. The boost frequencies on the RX 570 Gaming X 8G/4G is 1293MHz, while on the RX 570 Armor OC 8G/4G is 1293MHz.
As of today there is no precise date available when these cards will hit the shelves at your local retailer’s. Nevertheless they should become available by the end of April. So far there is also no information on the pricing.
