This time by El Chapuzas

Another set of benchmarks on AMD’s Ryzen CPUs has surfaced. This time it looks like the six-core AMD Ryzen 5 1600 has been tested. This model features 6 cores, 12 threads and a TDP of 95W. According to the latest rumors, the upcoming AMD Ryzen 5 CPUs should become available during this month.

These new results have been gathered using Cinebench R15, Aida64, CPU-Z and wPrime. At stock clocks the AMD Ryzen 5 1600 is as fast as an Intel’s Core i7-5930K. In other words those new tests confirm previous rumors as well as previous testing, showing that the AMD Ryzen 5 1600 is definitely a very quick chip. A closer look at the results gathered with the multi-thread benchmark routine from Cinebench R15 shows that the system with AMD Ryzen 7 1700X scores 1486 points, the AMD Ryzen 5 1600 scores 1123 points and the Intel Core i7-6900K scores 1559 Points. Apart from that running the single-threaded routine the performance is on a similar level. In fact, in this case the AMD Ryzen 5 1600 ranks between the Core i7-6900K and the Core i7-5930K.

The new Ryzen 5 1600 works with a base clock of 3.6 GHz and boost clocks of 4.0 GHz. The guys over El Chapuzas have tested the Ryzen 5 1600 with a MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Gaming Z graphics card in several games at both FullHD and 4K resolution. At the moment there aren't any details about the version of the benchmarks that’s been used.

According to these new results, it appears that the AMD chip is as fast as an Intel Core i7-6700K. What’s also been interesting to see is that El Chapuzas have done temperatures tests of the setup as well.

According to them Chapuzas, the Ryzen 5 reached 39°C in idle and 62°C under maximum load with the standard stock CPU cooler. In terms of overclocking, the maximum clock speed achieved with this chip is 3.9GHz at 1.360V. It isn’t that high but at least it’s stable with memory set to 2400MHz.
