The Microsoft Creators Update is one of the latest major updates for Windows 10 and it will be launching on April 11th according to a post over on the Windows blog. This confirms the early rumors which mentioned that this update in would be rolled out in "early April".
The Creators Update will fixes existing issues while also introducing new features. The so called "Game Mode" is certainly going to be the biggest upgrade to Windows 10 and next to that there is also “Beam”, which brings game streaming to the Windows 10 Game Bar.
But what is exactly the "Game Mode"? It’s a feature that should slightly improve performance with Universal Windows Platform and Win32 games when it's activated. In the end the Game Mode is there to prevent system and background tasks from stealing resources so games in general might benefit.
In addition Microsoft Edge received a few updates as well. For example the new "advanced tab management" allows you to share tabs across signed-in devices, as well as the ability to "set aside" tabs and bring them back up later. Furthermore the Paint 3D app, which we’ve first seen six months ago, will be included in the update, too.
Furthermore there is a bunch of small new features. A blue-light reduction feature called "night light" will be built into the OS. Microsoft also expands the parental controls with screen time limits. One of the most important changes is about the updates. Windows 10 Pro and Enterprise editions users will have more control when updates are installed and when the machine restarts after updates. Hopefully, with this release, we might also see several improvements regarding AMD Ryzen. The Creators Update will start to roll out by April 11th via Windows update or by doing a fresh installation with the latest version.
