During last weekend Ocaholic has held a small overclocking event Naruto80 and Rule from Italy as well as Racoon from Switzerland. While Racoon and Rule were preparing everything for a competition, Naruto80 just went for it and came up with some pretty good results.
Naruto80 has tested his new Core i7-7700K CPUs with SuperPi 1M and HWBOT Prime. While on HWBOT Prime his CPU was running at about 6.7GHz, on less intensive benchmarks like SuperPi he reached 7.0GHz. In the case of SuperPi it’s possible to deactivate unused cores, which then allows to overclock your CPU higher than using all cores available. Pushing for the highest frequency possible Naruto80 reached 7.0GHz with 1.98 volts running SuperPi 1M, which was good enough for the 12th place.
Over the weekend he also did a couple of Aquamark and 3DMark 05 runs. For both benchmarks he used a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 FE graphics card. Although the ranking is not exceptional, he scored quite a few points for the team. All benchmarks have been conducted on a system based based on an ASUS Maximus VIII Gene motherboard and apparently the mentioned Intel Core i7-7700K CPU.
Rule and Racoon haven't upload any scores yet but we are sure that we will see more from them during upcoming days and weeks. While we haven't seen any world records during the event, all the overclockers were able to share experiences and knowledge which is always a great thing. Thanks a lot to all the guys who attended and made this a great weekend. Following you can find a few pictures in our gallery.
