AMD Ryzen CPU specification leaked

Ryzen 1400 and 1200

Due to a leak from a CanardPC the lineup of upcoming Ryzen CPUs has been spotted. The report shows all details regarding the upcoming CPUs featuring model names and specifications including core and thread count as well as base frequencies. On top of that it’s been mentioned that the AMD Ryzen 1400 and 1200 CPUs should arrive during the second quarter of this year.

So far the AMD's Ryzen CPU lineup includes 3 eight-core processors and the pack is led by the AMD Ryzen 7 1800X, followed by the Ryzen 7 1700X and the Ryzen 7 1700. The base clock frequency ranges from 3.0 GHz to 3.6 GHz and all CPUs feature SMT, enabling 16 logical CPUs. According to the leak from CanardPC, two quad-core models are going to be introduced and they will go by the name AMD Ryzen 3 1400 and AMD Ryzen 3 1200. On top of that the AMD Ryzen 5 1500X will be the flagship quad-core model, featuring XFR (Extended Frequency Range).

If CanardPC's leaked specifications are correct, both the AMD Ryzen 3 1400 and the AMD Ryzen 3 1200 will feature base clock speeds in the region of 3.2GHz, and boost clocks around 3.4GHz. Like all Ryzen CPUs these models will support overclocking, which could turn these CPUs into real budget performers. Although pricing has not been announced for the AMD Ryzen 5 1600X and the AMD Ryzen 5 1500X, we expect to see these models listed for $240 US and $200 US respectively. Since the AMD Ryzen 3 1400 and AMD Ryzen 3 1200 CPUs are even lower in the food chain, we can expect them to be priced below $200 US.

With clock speeds of 3.2GHz and 3.4GHz it is almost certain that the upcoming low-end Ryzen CPUs won't be able to outperform an Intel Core i7-7700K or even the Core Intel i5-7600K CPUs. These upcoming AMD low-end chips are supposed to compete with Intel’s Core i3 series CPUs and low-end Core i5 processors. Since all AMD models can be overclocked, this could those chips highly attractive to gamers.
