The guys over at Coolaler.com have leaked the lineup of upcoming Ryzen CPUs featuring models names and specifications including core/thread count, base frequency and even the nearest Intel competitor. Nevertheless, as for now it remains unknown whether the Intel chips that have been put against the AMD counterparts are supposed to be performance or price competitors.
AMD's Ryzen CPU lineup includes 5 eight-core CPUs, 4 six-core CPUs and 8 quad-core CPUs. The pack is led by the AMD Ryzen R7 1800X, followed by the R7 1800 Pro, the R7 1700X, the R7 1700 Pro and the R7 1700. The base clock frequency ranges from 3.0 GHz to 3.6 GHz and we still don't know what the suffix "Pro" and "X" stand for. According to Coolaler, these five new models should compete with Intel’s Broadwell-E series processors.
There are also 4 six-core CPUs: the Ryzen R5 1600X, the R5 1600 Pro, the R5 1500 and the R5 1500 Pro. Clock speeds of these CPUs range between 3.20 and 3.60 GHz. All SKUs feature SMT, enabling 12 logical CPUs. The performance of the new six-core models should be comparable to Intel’s Core i5 Kaby Lake processors. Last but not least we find 8 quad-core CPUs that have been split into mid-range (R5 series) and entry-level (R3 series) models.
The mid-range quad-core lineup includes the Ryzen R5 1400X, R5 1400 Pro, R5 1300, and R5 1300 Pro. The entry-level R3 lineup includes the R3 1200X, R3 1200 Pro, R3 1100, and R3 1100 Pro. The main difference between these two product lines is SMT and the frequency. While the AMD R5 chips come with SMT enabled and a higher frequency the R3 series chips won’t feature SMT a the clock speeds will be lower.
