MSI announces that their MSI Z270 Gaming M5 and M7 are going to be bundled with Intel’s 600p Series SSD. This promotion was already available a few months ago but in combination with the MSI X99A Gaming Pro Carbon. If you plan on buying a MSI Z270 Gaming M5 or M7 you will receive a free Intel 600p 256GB NMVe SSD.


The MSI Z270 Gaming M5 and the MSI Z270 Gaming M7 are both gaming grade motherboards for Intel’s Intel Kaby Lake processors. Both models come with an armada of features and apparently there also M.2 slots. Additionally there is also MSI’s M.2 Shield which also acts as a heatsink in order to prevent throttling issues.

The Intel 600p NVMe SSD is a mid-tier M.2 SSD and it’s based on 3D NAND flash memory and supports the NVMe protocol. Sequentially reading the drive should hit up to 1'570MB/s and sequentially writing it tops out at 540MB/s. In the case of random performance it’s supposed to reach 70,000 IOPS for read operations and up to 112,000 IOPS in the case of 4k writes.
