ADATA has launched a new version of its Ultimate SU800 SSD which will be based on M.2 2280 form-factor with SATA 6Gbps interface.
To be available in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB capacities, the new ADATA Ultimate SU800 SSD is probably based Silicon Motion SM2258 controller and TLC 3D NAND. It uses standard M.2 2280 form-factor with SATA 6Gbps interface and will offer sequential performance of up to 560MB/s for read and up to 520MB/s for write.
The rest of the features include SLC Caching algorithm with DRAM Cache Buffer, LDPC ECC and MTBG of 2 million hours.
The ADATA Ultimate SU800 SSD is already available in 2.5-inch form-factor but the new M.2 form-factor offers more upgrade possibilities for devices with such port.
Unfortunately, ADATA did not reveal any details regarding the price or the availability date but we think that it should not be more expensive than the currently available 2.5-inch version, priced during launch at $60, $80, $140 and $270 for the 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB versions.
