Gigabyte announces new GTX 1080 Turbo OC graphics card

With WindForce blower-type cooler

Gigabyte has unveiled yet another Geforce GTX 1080 graphics card, the Gigabyte GTX 1080 Turbo OC, which will feature the new WindForce Turbo Fan, Gigabyte's version of a blower-style cooler with special shroud.

Featuring factory-overclocked settings which pushes the GPU to 1657MHz for the GPU base and 1797MHz for the GPU Boost clocks in OC mode and 1632MHZ base and 1772MHz GPU Boost clocks out of the box, the new Gigabyte GTX 1080 Turbo OC also features 8GB of GDDR5X memory working at reference 10GHz and draws power from a single 8-pin PCIe power connector.

The main feature of the new Gigabyte GTX 1080 Turbo OC is obviously its WindForce Turbo Fan, a blower-style cooler which features a large aluminum heatsink connected via three 6mm copper heatpipes in direct contact with the GPU and cooled by a single blower-style fan.

The memory and the VRM part are cooled by an aluminum plate and it also comes with a special shroud with black and orange color scheme.

While Gigabyte did not reveal any details regarding the price or the availability date, this could be the cheapest GTX 1080 Turbo OC in the Gigabyte's portfolio but we will wait for it to show up in retail/e-tail.
