Corsair launches Hydro GFX GTX 1080 graphics card

Co-developed with MSI

Corsair has unveiled its second generation Hydro GFX Series graphics card, the Corsair Hydro GFX GTX 1080, which was co-developed in partnership with MSI.

Carrying the MSI logo, the Corsair Hydro GFX GTX 1080 is, according to Corsair, up to 10 percent faster and up to 50 percent cooler compared to reference graphics cards.

It uses a hybrid cooler which incorporates a liquid cooling block that takes care of the GPU while the blower-style fan keeps the VRM and memory cooled. It also comes with a full cover backplate which should both provide addition rigidity as well as keep the back of the card cooled.

According to the specification list, the Corsair Hydro GFX GTX 1080 works at 1847/1708MHz in OC mode, 1822/1683MHZ in Gaming mode and 1733/1607MHz in Silent mode. The 8GB of GDDR5X memory on both Gaming and Silent mode is set to work at 10,010MHz while it gets overclocked to 10,108MHz in the OC Mode. Further overclocking as well as fan tuning can be set via MSI's Afterburner software.

According to Corsair, the new Hydro GFX GTX 1080 should already be available directly from Corsair with a price set at US $749.99 exc. tax in the United States, £699.99 inc. VAT in the UK and €849.99 inc. tax in Germany.
