No more analog signal support
Nvidia has apparently got rid of the support for the legacy D-Sub (VGA) analog connector on the GTX 1080 as the supplied DVI connector only supports digital signals.
According to the latest report, the upcoming Geforce GTX 1080 graphics card, and probably the GTX 1070 as well, will not support analog D-Sub output, despite the fact that it comes with a DVI connector.
Ratail cards won't include DVI to D-Sub dongle and aftermarket adapters won't work. This should not be a big issue as most monitors on the market currently support at least HDMI inputs and the GTX 1080 comes with three DisplayPort 1.4, single HDMI and the aforementioned DVI-D output.
AMD already got rid of the support for D-Sub output back with Radeon R9 290 series and it did not make a big fuss about it, so we doubt that this would be an issue for anyone.
