According to the latest report, Nvidia could launch its next-generation mainstream segment graphics card in Autumn 2016 (late Q3/early Q4).
According to a report coming from Sweclockers, the mainstream segment will be based on Nvidia's GP106 Pascal GPU and should replace currently available Geforce GTX 960 and GTX 950 graphics cards.
The report also suggest that the GP106 could have two enabled graphics processing clusters, which means that we will see somewhere around 1280 CUDA cores and there should be plenty of SKUs to choose from, with prices hitting the below-US $250 sweet-spot.
The Autumn launch means that these should drive Nvidia sales around Christmas shopping season, which is a good thing as mainstream segment sells well.
