New Gears of War gets PC system requirements

DirectX 12 only

Microsoft has finally revealed the official system requirements for the upcoming Gears of War: Ultimate Edition game and it appears that you will have to have a decent system with 16GB of RAM in case you are looking to reach recommended 1080p requirements and 4K is whole different story.

As expected, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will be exclusive to Windows 10 but it also appears that system requirements for the game are quite high as well and you won't be playing it without a DirectX 12 capable graphics card.

The list, published on Microsoft's Windows 10 store page, start off with minimum system requirements, which include a 64-bit Windows 10 OS, Intel Core i5 CPU at 2.7GHz or AMD's FX 6-core CPU, 8GB of RAM, GTX 650 Ti or Radeon R7 260X with at least 2GB of VRAM and 60GB of HDD space. Bear in mind that this will get the game started although, we are not sure that the level of detail will be that high.

The recommended system requirements, which should give you playable frame rate on 1080p resolution also include 64-bit Windows 10 OS and 60GB of HDD space, but raises the CPU bar to Intel Core i5 at 3.5GHz+ or AMD's FX 8-core CPU. The recommended requirements also include a rather incredible 16GB of RAM and Geforce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon R9 290X graphics card with at least 4GB of RAM, so hopefully issue with GTX 970 and 3.5GB+0.5GB won't be an issue.

The system requirements for 4K/UHD resolution are, as expected, quite high, and you will need a top notch system in case you have a monitor with that resolution. The list starts with 64-bit Windows 10 OS but also recommends an SSD with 60GB of space. It also needs 16GB of RAM, Intel's Core i7 at 4.0GHz or AMD FX 8-core CPU and Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 Ti or AMD Radeon R9 390X graphics card with 6GB+ of VRAM.

The original Gears of War game launched back in 2006 on Xbox 360 and the remastered version, Ultimate Edition, was released on Xbox One back in August last year, while the PC version of the game, is scheduled to launch in March.
