Fable Legends up to 40 percent faster under DX12

Results in better graphics

According to the latest interview with Lionhead Studios Director, Fable Legends offers up to 40 percent percent improvement on DirectX 12, compared to DirectX 11, results in better visual fidelity and more.

While we already knew that Fable Legends will offer support for DirectX 12 API, thanks to the latest interview of Lionhead Studios Director, Stuart Whyte, the performance gain from DirectX 12 API is quite significant, making the game run up to 40 percent faster compared to DirectX 11 API.

According to Whyte, thanks to DirectX 12 API, the development team was able to provide "a significant amount of horsepower – resulting in increased visual fidelity, higher frame rates, and improved shadows and effects.”

The performance and visual gain from DirectX 12 API won't be limited to the PC but it will also be available for Microsoft's Xbox One, probably giving Microsoft a well needed edge over Sony's Playstation 4.

According to earlier details, Fable Legends has been delayed from late 2015 to early 2016 in order to polish some details in the game. Unfortunately, the precise date has not be revealed.
