Elite Dangerous VR system requirements revealed

A lot of power for Virtual Reality

Frontier Developments have now revealed hardware requirements that you will need in order to play Elite Dangerous game using SteamVR virtual reality headset.

While the original hardware requirements for Elite Dangerous were not that high, it is now obvious that you will need a decent gaming system if you want to play the game using SteamVR headset.

According to minimum hardware requirements released by Frontier Developements, you will need at least Intel Core i7-3770K or AMD FX-4350 CPU, 16GB of RAM and Nvidia GTX 980 4GB graphics card or better. In case you missed it before, minimum RAM for playing the game without VR was set at 4GB and minimum graphics card was Nvidia Geforce GTX 260.

The support for SteamVR was added in a beta test of Horizon expansion for Elite Dangerous and the official support will be available to PC players once Horizon exits its beta phase.
