Square Enix updates Just Cause 3 PC requirements

Comes with Nvidia GameWorks effects

Just Cause 3 is scheduled to launch on December 1st for PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4 and Square Enix has decided to update the PC hardware requirements which happen to be a bit different than the one seen on the leaked box back cover.

While the hardware requirements are not correct, the box back cover did confirm that the game will use Nvidia's GameWorks effects, most likely, HBAO+ and TXAA. Although the back cover did reveal a full list of PC hardware requirements, Square Enix has now officially announced an updated list, stating that the ones on the box were printed before the game was finished.

The update list, which was published on Twitter, includes Intel Core i7-3770 or AMD FX-8350 CPU, 8GB of RAM and either Nvidia Geforce GTX 780 3GB or AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB graphics card for recommended hardware requirements. The minimum hardware requirements include Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD Phenom II X6 1075T, 6GB of RAM and either Nvidia GTX 670 2GB or AMD HD 7870 2GB graphics cards. Both the minimum and recommended also require 64-bit Windows Vista SP2 or later OS and 45GB of HDD or SSD space.

It appears that Square Enix had to increase both minimum and recommended hardware requirements when the game was finished, suggesting that the performance was not as smooth as they expected. Hopefully, the game will at least work properly as most recent AAA titles have problems with both optimizations as well as bugs.
