BitFenix unveils the new Pandora ATX PC case

Bigger version of the original Pandora

BitFenix has expanded its line of PC case with the launch of the new Pandora ATX, a bigger, ATX version of the original Pandora.

As the name suggest, BitFenix has simply used the same design and functionality of the original Pandora and expanded it to accommodate the ATX form-factor as well as a single 360mm radiator. To be available only in black color and two different versions, Pandora ATX and Pandora ATX Core. The standard Pandora ATX features a 2.8-inch ICON LCD display in the front which will allow users to add a logo of their choice to the front via simple software.

Internally, the Pandora ATX is similar to Pandora, features a separate bottom chamber for the PSU and HDDs while the rest of the components is located in the top part of the case, making it suitable for modding projects, according to Bitfenix. When it comes to cooling, the Pandora ATX comes with a front 140mm and rear 120mm fans. When it comes to liquid cooling support the Pandora ATX comes with support for front and top mounted 360mm radiator and features dedicated brackets and supports for pumps and reservoirs.

It also supports up to 440mm long graphics cards, up to 220mm long PSUs and up to 160mm tall CPU coolers, has four 2.5-inch dedicated SSD mounting places and can take up to four 3.5-inch HDDs.

Unfortunately, Bitfenix did not unveil any details regarding the price or the specific availability date.

Our thoughts on this topic:

With the Pandora ATX, It appears that Bitfenix managed to fix some of the main issues of the original Pandora PC case, including the lack of a true PSU cover and the cooling solutions. On the Pandora mATX version it was not easy to find the right place for all the components and wires, but it appears that Pandora ATX is a bit better and it even comes with enough room to put a large radiator at the top.

Despite all these improvements and the fact that they have tried to listen the feedback from users, we still don't understand why they removed the brushed and elegant aluminum side panels replacing them with normal steel. We can understand that they did this in order to keep the price low and close to €100 mark, but since the aluminum sheet was one of the biggest features on the original Pandora case, making it a sort of premium case, without the aluminum side panels, the Pandora ATX looks just like yet another PC case.
