COD: Black Ops III suffers from performance issues

12GB of RAM and GTX 980 Ti not enough for 1600p

While a lot of gamers have been eagerly awaiting the next installment of the Call of Duty franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, it appears that it suffers the same fate as plenty of recent AAA games, big performance issues.

According to a report from Techpowerup.com, the game, set at Ultra settings and 2560x1600 resolution, did not work well on a rather powerful system which is based on Intel's Core i7 Haswell quad-core CPU, 12GB of RAM and the Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 Ti graphics card.

It appears that the game suffers from bad memory management as it easily uses 12GB of RAM. It even has trouble with video memory as there is noticeable stutter on the GTX 980 Ti with 6GB of VRAM which disappears when the GTX Titan X with 12GB of VRAM is plugged in.

Techpowerup.com also noted that the game ran smooth once the GTX 980 Ti was paired up with 16GB of system RAM.

Plenty of users on Steam Forums are also reporting performance issues, including low FPS and stuttering. Hopefully, we will see a patch soon that will fix these issues.
