MSI has unveiled yet another Intel Z170 Express chipset based motherboard that will be a part of its Pro Series motherboard lineup and be a direct successor of the well known X99A SLI Plus motherboard, the MSI Z170A SLI Plus.
Featuring the same all black design with white accents as the well known MSI X99A SLI Plus motherboard, the new Z170A SLI Plus promises plenty of performance, features and recognizable style.
MSI has only just updated its website with Z170A SLI Plus specifications and it is quite an extensive list. Offering support for Intel's latest 6th generation Core Skylake CPUs, the MSI Z170A SLI Plus comes with four DIMM memory slots with support for up to 64GB of DDR4-3600 memory in dual-channel mode as well as DDR4 Boost and XMP LED features. It is also based on Military Class 4 components with Dark Choke, Dark CAP and Guard-Pro features, protecting the motherboard from most damage.
It has three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots (support x16/x0/x4, x8/x8/x4 modes) and three PCI-Express 3.0 x1 slots. The two main PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots feature MSI's Steel Armor PCI-E slots with more solder points on the PC. As far as the storage goes, it comes with six SATA 6Gbps ports, one Turbo M.2 32Gbps Gen3 x4 slot and optional Turbo U.2 host card.
The rest of the features include a single Intel I219-V gigabit LAN controller, Realtek's ALC1150 7.1-chanell audio, one USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C port from ASMedia ASM1142 chip and six USB 3.1 and six USB 2.0 ports from Intel's Z170 chipset. There are also plenty of MSI exclusive features including EZ Debug LED, Click BIOS 5, OC Genie 4 and more.
Unfortunately, MSI did not reveal any details regarding the price or the availability date but we are sure that we will see it on retail/e-tail shelves soon and you can expect the price to be somewhere around €100.
