Asetek wins injunction against Cooler Master in US

AMD R9 Fury X might be affected as well

Asetek has been pursuing other liquid cooling manufacturers in courts for quite some time, chasing down all who might have infringed their patents in liquid cooling technology and while it have won a case or two, the latest ruling against Cooler Master will have a significant effect on the market.

Asetek has already won a couple of court trials, especially the one against Swiftech, Cool IT and Cooler Master, but the recent decision coming from a judge in the US District Court for the northern district of California, might have a big impact on the market.

According to Asetek's press release, the company has won a permanent injunction against Cooler Master, which means that all Cooler Master AiO liquid coolers with a pump on the water block can no longer be imported or sold in the USA. The same judge also increased Asetek's damage claims from the original 14.5 percent to 25.375 percent.

While Cooler Master can still appeal the judgement, this will have a big impact on the AiO liquid cooling market and it is also possible that the same ruling might have an impact on the recently released AMD Radeon Fury X graphics card which uses Cooler Master's AiO liquid cooler.
