During its financial investor conference held recently, Electronic Arts has confirmed that the new Battlefield title will be coming next year.

While most of the focus is on the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront title, which will be released on November 17th, Electronic Arts has confirmed that it is working on a new Battlefield title scheduled for the third quarter of fiscal year 2017, which is pretty much in line with the holiday season next year.

The new Battlefield title really does not come as a surprise considering that Battlefield Hardline did not go as good as the company hoped. What makes the announcement interesting is the fact that EA's CFO, Blake Jorgensen called it "the new Battlefield experience" which could either suggest that it is a completely different title in the series or just a title that could become Battlefield 5 or Battlefield 2143.

During the same financial call, Jorgensen also noted that there will be an another Star Wars project led by a well known team.

Unfortunately, Jorgensen did not reveal any more details so hopefully we will hear more during Gamescom 2015 show which kicks off later this week.
