Intel financial results, good but not great

PC division is down 14%

The PC market in general is definitely not the healthiest market on this planet. What's always a solid indicator for that is chip giant Intel. If the company is not able to perform better than in the previous year, then there is pressure on many other vendors.

A closer look at the numbers from Intel shows, that during the second quarter of this year the company was able to earn 13.195 billion US-Dollar, whereas one year ago it was 13.831 billion US-Dollar. The main reason why the income is lower than the year before can be found in the PC division, where the earinings went down from 8.718 to 7.537 billion US-Dollar. Overall profit in the second quarter 2015 is 2,706 billion US-Dollar. The year before Intel was making 2.796 billion US-Dollar profit in the same quarter.

The healthiest of all the divisions within Intel is the Data Center Group, which made 1.843 billion US-Dollar profit and the earinings went up to 3.85 billion US-Dollar.

Although Intel did make less money in the second quarter this year than last year, projections for the third quarter sound promising. The company is expecting to make 14.3 billion US-Dollar. During that time frame Intel is suppose to launch the new Skylake processors. The launch of new desktop CPUs is always boosting Intels numbers.
