Microsoft unveils the HoloLens glasses

Glasses with holographic lenses

Yesterday, Microsoft held an official presentation of Windows 10 OS and while the software was definitely in the spotlight, Microsoft also took the time to unveil one of his new upcoming projects, the HoloLens glasses.

In recent years, virtual reality and augmented reality really evolved. The application for users has become sufficient and the interest grew which made the big companies, such as Microsoft, interested in it. Rather than making competition for the Oculus Rift, Microsoft has decided to go for the augmented reality, offering a tool which can be used productively, the HoloLens glasses.

The HoloLens glasses will be accompanied by applications named Holograms and available on any device running on Windows 10. These glasses will be a standalone PC with its own CPU, GPU, RAM, memory and even an HPU (Holograms Processing Unit) in charge of managing the Adds that will appear on the glasses provided for this purpose. A lot of sensors and two cameras make it an immersive product and it even does not need another device to connect to the Internet, in addition to be synchronized with any other device running under Windows 10.

For the presentation of this tool, a creation was made in real time via the HoloStudios, a software which allows you to create a 3D model without using any other interface than the HoloLenses. Microsoft did not say anything about the future price or the date of availability of this device, but their project seems more than well advanced.
