Shuttle launches the DS81L barebone

For 4th generation Intel CPUs

Following its popular DS81 barebone, Shuttle has now launched a new version with even lower TDP, the DS81L.
The Shuttle DS81L is identical to the DS81 in its format and its characteristics, except for its TDP and voltage. While the DS81 barebone was supplied with 19V and consumed a maximum of 90W, the DS81L is supplied with 12V and consumes no more than 84W.

The Shuttle DS81L, which is packed in a rather small case with 19x16x4.3cm dimensions and weighs 1.3kg, shall be equipped with Intel 4th generation CPU (Pentium, Celeron, i3, i5, i7) and a maximum of 16 GB DDR3L-1600. Some of these chips should be enough for two Full HD streams or a single UHD output. This makes the DS81L a perfect solution for decoding video in enterprise or any environment supplied with 12V.

Its connectivity includes two USB 3.0 and six USB 2.0 ports, two DisplayPort and one HDMI output, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, a card reader and audio jacks. Its MSRP is €199 and it should be available commercially as of today.
