Patriot's latest Torch solid-state drive lineup has appeared listed at Amazon.com ahead of its official launch. Based on a standard 2.5-inch 7mm-thick form-factor, the Torch SSD will be available in 120 and 240GB capacities and be based on Phison PS3110 controller paired up with 16nm MLC NAND flash.
According to details that are available from
a listing over at Amazon.com, Patriot's newest Torch SSD lineup will feature standard 2.5-inch 7mm form-factor, SATA 6Gbps interface and will be available in two capacities, 120GB and 240GB, at least for the time being. According to the same listing, the new Patriot Torch SSD lineup is based on Phison PS3110 controller paired up with 16nm synchronous MLC NAND flash memory.
The 240GB Torch SDD version will offer sequential read and write performance of up to 555MB/s and 535MB/s while the 120GB version will have somewhat slower 545MB/s and 430MB/s performance.
Currently, the Patriot Torch SSD lineup is available at Amazon.com with a price set at US $102.99 for the 240GB version and US $59.99 for the 120GB version. Unfortunately, these new Phison-based Patriot Torch SSDs are still not listed in Europe and still not officially announced but we are sure that Patriot will have them ready and on shelves before Christmas shopping season.
